New Design Concepts

On The Eve of the Millennium...
Don Yunker Design is continually producing new scenic concepts. As we approach this milestone in history, we have a number of options to submit upon request. For programs spanning consecutive days, events and media staging designs can serve a multiple purpose when programs require changes within the meeting format. The "connecting thread" or theme of a program can be adapted each day for a new look. This serves to enhance the message of the meeting as well as provide for a visual nuance. With the Millennium upon us, there is a wealth of possibilities to create effect and imagery with all that has transpired and all that lies before us.

Elegant French Evening
The cultured, elegant, stylish and romantic qualities of the French, are represented this evening with elements of fabric, floral and art. This as compliment to carefully prepared cuisine and fine wine makes for an evening of elegant dining.

First Modern Civilization

The history of Egypt is told in cryptic fashion in hieroglyphics throughout ancient ruins. Further clues of this civilization are found in tombs lost for centuries in monuments built to house the departed for eternity.

Such a place is discovered this evening with torches lighting the sandstone entry to an exciting and mysterious space beyond. A netherworld containing clues to a culture relatively advanced unfolds. Hieroglyphs on stone tell us of accomplishment and inventions during a sophisticated time in history.

WEIRD SCIENCE

From the dark dungeons of Frankenstein's Castle Laboratory, to the absurd futuristic local of an Ed Wood film, guests are faced with an evening that spans the realm of dubious taste and decorum to didactic displays of information. Elaborate useless contraptions are mixed with simple, useless contraptions in a grandly overdone laboratory setting. Something for scientist wannabes of all types with customized elements relative to an organizations theme or function.

Stonehenge and Lost Culture

*Millennium Concept*
The lives of ancient people are a compelling mystery. A mysterious past conjures a mystical view of the future, and the natural environment of an ancient ruin is a unique atmosphere in which to celebrate.

Pasi'on Gitano

(Outdoor Venue)
The event area is enhanced with lighting and simple appointments creating an environment suited for an evening of flamenco music and dance.

A Spanish archway decorated with pierced tin lanterns and accents of vivid wine colored drapery frames the entry path. Trios of lanterns on stands line the walk to the dining and staging area and light globes with occasional pierced lanterns hang overhead.

The stage is backed with a large Spanish archway that is accented with pierced lanterns and made colorful with wine colored drapery. Two smaller arches finish the stage right and left sides. Dancers may use these passages as entry to the stage, for dramatic presentation.

Tables are presented in two options, both with the addition of red carnation nosegays provided for the traditional homage offering of this red flower thrown at the dancers feet during and following their dance of Pasi'on Gitana.

ELEGANT POOL AREA
Two up and over truss structures create frameworks that support two large panels of Lycra upon which are projected gobo patterns with Client logo or appropriate meeting logo. Each truss upright is covered in a sheath of translucent fabric and lit internally with colored light.

Glam Space Future

*Millennium Concept*
An entry to the future takes us a time in space represented with translucent covered truss structures over the dance floor and on the ballroom periphery. Stretched fabric panels create vertical accent from floor to ceiling and colored moving light overwhelms the space through a swirling fog haze. With the overlying meeting theme and the future at the forefront of the evening, a vision of these ingredients becomes manifest in interpretation original in design and execution.

MAIN STREET USA

Route 66, the Fabled Journey
From a vintage gas station in Chicago to the Santa Monica Pier, Route 66 has inspired romance in most who have considered the open road. Left in the wake of Route 66's closure is a colorful pastiche of drama, literature and music from Bobby Troup's song to Jack Kerouac's on the road. Endearing clichés remain along the route from memorial signs to Cadillac Ranch to Teepee Motels and giant arrows.

Mining Town in the Southwest
These design concepts stand on their own as themed events or can be a dynamic tie-in to a general session or motivational event.

Southwest Mining Media Set

The Future Ain't What it Used to Be
The future of the "Client Company" is golden, and all signposts will lead the guests toward that recognition during the meeting. The tools of the mining trade and the hard work necessary to use them will be in evidence throughout.

Indiana Jones and the Adventurers
The temple is so important to adventure, on the edge.
This is destined to be an evening in the minds eye jungle of lost continents and worlds. One must enter at certain risk, you see, as the torches at each side of the temple are lit brightly on the grotesque stone effigy guarding the entry. Blinding our eyes to the sarcophagus like interior they warn against, yet influence the compulsion to enter. They are lit so brightly, that the corridor beyond appears dark and mysterious, with only the deep mist below to both guide and confuse footing. Light beams dart about, revealing spiders and creatures too quick to recognize, and the passage turns and twists until this long, lost evening becomes the manifestation of every heroine and heroes adventure.
